POSITIVE PARENTING TIPS-LET YOUR CHILD BLOSSOM

By Sudha Gupta

Parenting is a skill which is made richer by everyday experiences. Every parent wants their child to be the best. Positive parenting essentially means a good parent-child relationship. Children are precious for all parents and every parent would be interested in knowing how they can be better parents. Good parenting skills help to develop a great relationship with your children.

Mrs. Sudha Gupta is a well know parenting expert in India.  Here are some tips from her exclusive Positive Parenting concept which will help to make the journey smoother and easier. These are the easiest ways which can be applied in your daily life to make your relationship with your children meaningful and wholesome.

Let children be themselves

Set your children free! Let them be what they want to be. Do not mould them according to your aspirations. Never force your desires or dreams on children. Let them build their own dreams and help them achieve by supporting them all the way.

Give them unconditional love

Children are always hungry for love and appreciation no matter what age they are. Always express your love through words or touch. Giving a hug everyday can really work wonders in making a strong bond with your child. Don’t tie conditions on love, like you will buy them a new toy if they score good marks etc. Let you love flow unconditionally without any restrictions and clauses.

Provide a loving and supporting atmosphere

Children should live with joy. A loving atmosphere at home ensures confident and happy growth in children. The best thing you can do for them is to give them a loving and supporting atmosphere.

Maintain a friendly relationship

Create a friendly bond with your children. Rather than bossing your children around and telling them what to do/what not to do all the time, be a friend to your child. Place yourself at a level lower than the kids so that they can put across their views easily in front of you rather than cringing away from talking to you.

Be the role model you wish your child to be

Children learn from their elders. They watch you all the time and imitate you. They not only copy your habits but also your behaviour. Always display proper, respectful, and good behaviour; it works way better than instructing them what to do.

Being a parent is a privilege given to you. Children are little bundles of joy that come into this world through you. Learn to enjoy, nurture and support them. Do not try to make them your future investments.
